Design, politics and subjectivation
Based on an understanding of the political implications of design, this line seeks to investigate the field's relationship with design thinking and the processes of knowledge production, subjectivation and social transformation in contemporary societies. It promotes cross-cutting dialogues with different areas such as education, cultural studies, sociology and psychology. It promotes research based on critical theories, participatory methodologies, experimental approaches, intervention research and exploratory historiographies. It seeks to examine the ways in which design manifests, via discourses and practices, interrelationships between tactics of political resistance and socio-cultural mediations.
