Formação e Perfil dos Coordenadores de Curso de Ensino Superior em Design

Resumo

Over the past 20 years there has been an increase in the number of universities in the country and, consequently, increased competition making managing a more complex institution than usual. Currently entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to put it into practice and manage the sectors of a company is an important competitive advantage, but also a challenge. The companies are changing their course of action on the market in which they operate and positioning within the business model of service delivery. The constant updating of the field generates new habits, traditions and behaviors. The objective of this paper is to present a reflection on technical and management practices that can provide improvement in quality standards and consequent growth of higher education institutions. In most cases, the educational institutions in Brazil launches the teacher - with titration or with extensive experience in academia or research - the courses of officers. This is the tradition of the institutions in relation to the leaders who will coordinate the courses. This teaching is difficult in the effective management of the courses due to lack of certain management techniques that would help in better performance of the companies. The management brings some possibilities for the institution, among them allows to recognize threats and opportunities, transforming information into knowledge with added value to the processes. In this study, the field being investigated is the degree course in Design coordinator and possibly apply parameters and management models appropriate to the incremental improvement of these courses.
