O Bumba meu boi é uma manifestação cultural marcante da cultura popular maranhense. No ano de 2011 recebeu o título de Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade, obtendo ainda mais espaço para a sua apresentação e exposição. Nesta perspectiva, fortaleceu-se sua importância dentro do espaço da Casa do Maranhão - museu que tem por missão contar a história do Maranhão. Diante desses aspectos, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo apresentar, primeiramente a manifestação, seus rituais e mecanismos de resistência, depois uma descrição do acervo de exposição e por fim uma análise das falas dos agentes que mediam essa exposição com o público. A partir da descrição e análise do que envolve a exposição a dissertação propõe alguns questionamentos sobre os modos com que o saber-fazer do design pode contribuir para a construção da memória de um determinado bem cultural, como o Bumba meu boi. Aliando observação participante à análise do projeto expográfico, o trabalho se propõe também como um experimento na interface entre design e antropologia.

Bumba meu boi is a remarkable cultural representation in Maranhão. In 2011 this event has earned the title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity, getting more space for your presentation and exhibition. From this perspective, it is important to think about the exhibition within the Casa do Maranhão- a museum that aims to tell the story of Maranhão. In this perspective, this research aims to present, firstly, the manifestation, their rituals and mechanisms of resistance, then a description of the exhibition collection and finally, an analysis of the speeches of these agents that mediate this exhibition with the public. From the description and analysis of the exhibition, this research proposes some questions about the ways in which the know-how of the design can contribute to the construction of the memory of a certain cultural manifestation, such as Bumba meu boi. Combining participant observation with the analysis of the expographic project, this dissertation is also proposed as an experiment in the interface between design and anthropology.
