Crossing the present
The CURA Book (Research Group on Culture, Urbanism, Resistance and Architecture), organised by professor and researcher André Carvalho, seeks to reflect on and present the relationships between architecture, art and design, based on the research being carried out. To this end, as well as presenting the exhibition Atravessar e Presente (Crossing and Present), which brings together works by artists who situate the idea of the city in the contemporary debate on social emergencies and their relationship with art, the book also includes texts by CURA researchers dealing with poetics and themes linked to their respective research: the city, gender, social design, graphic expression and life. The book also brings together texts and translations by guest researchers on themes that are very dear to CURA's vocation and that emphasise the relationship between architecture and design in relation to territoriality, ethnicity, art and history.
