Entry guidelines and procedures

The selection process for admission to the PPDESDI takes place once a year, during the second semester. If you are interested in joining the Graduate Programme in Design at ESDI/UERJ, you can get closer to the programme by taking part in courses as a special student and getting to know the research of the professor you are interested in appointing as a supervisor.

Admission to the programme

The PPDESDI is aimed at holders of an undergraduate degree from an officially recognised educational institution who have passed the selection process. The selection process for admission to the programme is defined annually by the programme coordinator, approved by the DEPG/SR-2/UERJ, and published in a specific notice.

Isolated courses may be taken by graduates as special or external students, depending on the availability of places and authorisation from the subject's lecturer. Special or external students who pass isolated subjects will be entitled to a certificate of attendance and the grade obtained. If they wish to enter the PPDESDI master's or doctoral programme, special students must take part in the annual selection process, as attendance and approval in isolated subjects do not express a link with the postgraduate course. The credits obtained can be used within two years from the date of the first enrolment in isolated subjects. The special student can take up to 12 (twelve) credits if approved for the doctorate.
