Através de uma análise histórica, a pesquisa se propõe a investigar o papel da visualidade nas transformações da experiência de consumo de música impostas pela evolução tecnológica. Se o surgimento do fonógrafo confere potencialidades inéditas à escuta, a ausência da performance determina a perda da visualidade como complemento à audição musical. O processo evolutivo da embalagem do fonograma fez surgir um conceito de projeto que se transfigurou como alternativa à privação dessa visualidade, graças à criação de um layout específico para aquele conteúdo musical. Com o advento do fonograma imaterial e sua transmissão em streaming, nota-se mais uma importante mudança nos processos de consumo de música, alterando as funções da visualidade e, por extensão, do designer na geração de soluções criativas para a mediação da escuta fonográfica.

Through a historical analysis, the research proposes to investigate the role of visuality in the transformations of the experience of music consumption imposed by technological evolution. If the uprising of the phonograph confers unprecedented potential for listening, the absence of performance determines the loss of visuality as a complement to musical hearing. The evolutionary process of the packaging of the phonogram gave rise to a project concept that was transfigured as an alternative to the deprivation of this visuality, thanks to the creation of a specific layout for that musical content. With the advent of the immaterial phonogram and its transmission in streaming, one can notice another important change in the processes of music consumption, altering the functions of the visuality and, by extension, the designer in the generation of creative solutions for the mediation of the phonographic listening.
