Partindo da pergunta "O que acontece com a roda quando não pode fazer roda?", o estudo é uma investigação sobre adaptações realizadas por coletivos no sentido de garantir que festas e festejos populares se mantivessem ativos durante e após a pandemia de Covid-19. Percebeu-se nestas adaptações – as quais ultrapassam o contexto pandêmico – foco especial no engajamento dos sujeitos em garantir a sobrevivência das pessoas a partir de redes de apoio, em criar espaços de encontro e em manter a continuidade da tradição para as novas gerações. Através dessa análise, a pesquisa faz uma leitura de um design-verbo que atravessa a vida cotidiana e o território, em um processo de elaboração contínua do presente, em alternativa à concepção do termo atrelado ao projeto e ao planejamento de uma condição futura. Sugeriu-se, assim, que indivíduos e coletivos desenham continuamente formas de insistir e de garantir a viabilidade da vida em contextos de precariedade e emergência e que festas e festejos participam do desenho da cidade, material ou imaterialmente.

Based on the question What happens to the circle when we can not have a circle? the present study is an investigation of adaptations made by collectives in order to ensure that festivals and popular celebrations remained active during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. One perceives in these adaptations - which go beyond the pandemic context - a special focus on the engagement of the subjects in guaranteeing the survival of people through support networks, in creating meeting spaces, and in maintaining the continuity of tradition for the new generations. Through this analysis, the research makes a reading of a design-verb that crosses everyday life and territory, in a process of continuous elaboration of the present, as an alternative to the conception of the term tied to the project and planning of a future condition. It is suggested, thus, that individuals and collectives continuously design ways to insist and ensure the viability of life in contexts of precariousness and emergency, and that festivals and celebrations participate in the design of the city, materially or immaterially.
